Fandrare, the "ArchMage", is an honorific title given to great mages, first originating from within the Elizabethan court for Phatherence. This title was actually proposed by Alice, drawn from her father Fandrare Kyren's name, because "he was a great mage”.
The former had proposed that the latter teach their skills to future generations and seek out the next Fandrare, but this suggestion did not receive Phatherence's approval. Despite this, the title ArchMages has been passed down to this day, and the term Fandrare has become a symbol of the highest point of magic.
Generally speaking, one cannot become a ArchMages without the certification of M.A.R., even if he is not a mage of Ragriff.
Note: This term does not refer to Sorcerers. For the distinction between Sorcerers and Mages, see Mage & Sorcerers.
