For this past matter, not only historians have differing accounts, but also mages who advocate Pure Magic. For those who devoted their entire lives to studying pure magic in the second millennium, the combination of elements and magic is a catastrophic force: even a simple Fireball can easily break through their meticulously constructed Bulwark.
It is said that thanks to Excisura, Emporiae, one of the three, is still alive, though their current whereabouts are unknown. As the most famous young mage of his time, Sorandal's premature death—even posthumously recognized as Vandra—sent shockwaves through the world. Meanwhile, Emporiae's disappearance failed to attract any attention, until Sorandal's body was discovered in a cave somewhere in Hillkind Mountains. His chest had been pierced by some kind of magic, and several tests confirmed it was very likely the effect of //Rockrend. The unsuspecting victim, Hillkind's unique magic, the missing Emporiae—people could easily connect the pieces of what happened.
However, years of searching failed to locate the trail of this outstanding mage, and the cause and effect of this matter became a mystery from then on. The various hypotheses proposed by historical scholars could not for the most part justify themselves. A millennium has passed, and perhaps the truth was buried together with that day's 索兰达尔, buried beneath the deep rocks.
