The Hillax are descendants of the brave, yet this brought them no respect. The only thing time failed to wash away was the curse of the gods, leaving the Hillax widely ostracized and discriminated against in Hillkind society, with discontent gradually building. In AG 1032, Strabo led the Hillax in a four-year war of independence.

This war did not conclusively split the Hillkind Mountains, but it greatly contributed to the current standoff between Hillkind and the Hillax on opposing sides of Mount Thorn.
