Although she possessed the talent to become a TreeKeeper, Edel chose to leave rather than be imprisoned for life. She traveled north along the Anduin River until reaching a coastal plain, which is today's Forgotten Plain, where she lived peacefully for over a hundred years.

The peaceful life was disrupted by Halfdrake expanding their territory. This evil species, possessing magic, intelligence, and massive scale, was spurned by their own kind and attempted to expand outward. After a long and arduous battle, Edel exiled this species to the Oceanus.

However, during this battle, Edel was also grievously wounded, and she perished not long after. The magic that emanated from her became the origin of the Forgotten Plain's effect of causing people to forget the past.
